Phil has significant insurance reporting experience, having provided engineering advice to the insurance industry since 1992. He brings the significant advantage and understandings of his legal training to the company.

Phil has undertaken residential and commercial building damage investigations throughout Australia, in both urban and regional/rural areas. He has also provided expert witness reports on many insurance matters.

A founder and director of the company since its inception in 1999, Phil has overseen the company’s expansion from humble beginnings in Adelaide to the present operation spanning five States.

Warwick graduated from Monash University in 1975 with an honours degree in Civil Engineering. His skills encompass many disciplines that are required to successfully formulate and document pragmatic solutions to building related problems including civil, structural and geotechnical engineering.

Since joining the company in 2004, Warwick has used his unique expertise to assist a wide variety of clients in the insurance and legal industries with innumerable construction and building related disputes ranging from domestic dwellings to complex industrial or commercial buildings. He has also used his vast industry experience to assist clients with project management, planning and third-party consultant coordination.

With over 42 years of experience in the engineering and construction industry, Warwick is an eminent industry leader in the Diagnostic Engineering field.

Sibbe joined the company in 2004 having previously worked in management within the building industry. Sibbe has extensive knowledge of building regulation and construction requirements, having designed and documented many new buildings and additions/alterations. He has experience in varying construction methods, including heritage related reinstatements, straw-bale and mud brick construction, and more traditional building methods.

Since joining the company he has provided advice to the insurance industry on building damage causation and/or failure of building elements. He has undertaken hundreds of projects detailing and preparing repair documentation for fire, storm, flood, impact and water damaged buildings in both urban and country settings, across SA, Victoria, NSW and ACT.

Sibbe brings an understanding of the insurance industry and compassion when dealing with building owners coping with their loss.

James has a first class honours degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from the University of Adelaide (2010). Since graduation, James has worked closely with senior structural and diagnostic engineers to gain experience in a wide variety of construction and engineering practices. He has been involved in a number of complex structural investigations and prepared detailed reports to provide clients with expert advice to assist in decisions regarding asset management, damage causation and remediation.

Whilst developing his experience in the engineering and construction industry, James also completed a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Adelaide (2014). This legal training has provided James with a unique understanding of complex legal issues that can arise during engineering and construction projects as well as during the life of an asset. James has utilised this unique juxtaposition of skills to provide expert reports to assist clients both in a litigious and non-litigious context.

Having graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1981, Ian has over 35 years of structural engineering experience in mining, multistory, industrial and commercial projects, having worked overseas and throughout Australia.

Ian joined the company in 2009, bringing 16 years’ experience as a timber engineering specialist. An extensive knowledge of timber framed structures has been invaluable in a field where damage to residential construction is commonplace.

Ian has project-managed both commercial and residential builds, where his attention to detail and extensive building product knowledge is invaluable.

Adrian joined the company in 2015, with 17 years of structural design experience in the commercial and mining sectors. With his background in consulting, he brings a wealth of design and construction knowledge to the company.

Since joining the company, he has been involved in many challenging investigations including retaining wall failures, farm building collapses and residential building movement.

Russell joined the company in 2009 after completing studies in Building Design & Technology and Residential Drafting. Having previously served with the Australian Army for 21 years, he was looking to combine his methodical and analytical thinking skills with his background in construction.

Since joining the company, Russell has developed a firm knowledge of a wide range of building techniques, both commercial and residential, as well as the National Construction Code, Timber Framing Code and other referenced Australian Standards. He has also undertaken training with the ‘FirstRate’ energy rating software.

Russell has significant experience in producing documentation and reports for the insurance industry relating to building damage caused by fire, impact, storm and water throughout SA, VIC, NSW and ACT.

Duane has gained a wide variety of valuable experience in the construction industry after completing his studies in Building Design and Drafting in 1998.

After 9 years as a design drafter in the industrial, commercial and residential sectors, Duane worked for 5 years with a building design and construction company involved in all aspects of design, drafting, estimating, project and construction management of multi-million dollar contract works. Duane also gained experience in the insurance industry working as a Loss Adjuster for 2 years before returning to the construction industry.

Since joining Imparta in 2014, Duane has enjoyed the privilege of combining all his skills into the one role and expanding his knowledge of buildings and building repair methodology.

Jarrad joined the company in 2011 as Administration Officer bringing his office management and customer relations experience from a wide range of businesses. His knowledge in administration allows him to help maintain Imparta Engineers valued customer and client relations.

Jarrad is responsible for liaison with customers and clients and is the primary administration contact for Imparta Engineers.

Terri joined the company as Finance Manager in May 2015 bringing a wealth of financial management experience gained over more than 20 years in various industries.

Terri’s previous experience includes establishing and overseeing the operations and growth of her own successful business in Adelaide for over 10 years. She has built an impressive knowledge of financial and accounting systems as well as a thorough understanding of legal and reporting requirements to ensure compliance with internal and external obligations.

Terri is responsible for the financial and accounting functions of the business, and is based in the Adelaide office. Terri is the company’s primary contact for accounts payable and receivable.

Chana joined the company in 2012 having completed his doctoral research degree, part of which included building damage investigation following severe wind events, and full scale structural testing. He has substantial knowledge on structural failure mechanisms of buildings subject to windstorms and cyclones.

Chana has been involved in the investigation of many damaged structures subjected to various insurance related hazards throughout Australia, and provided investigation reports and repair scopes on matters investigated.

Following the completion of his Civil/Structural Engineering degree with a first class honours (2005), he has conducted structural analysis, design & detailing, project management construction and research on low to multi-storied residential and commercial building structures. This diverse experience assists him to solve/diagnose complex civil/structural engineering issues in the Insurance Industry.

Amin has worked in the building and construction industry since 2007 and is passionate about the design and construction of residential properties. He has been involved in the development of residential homes for over four years and has extensive experience in the diagnosis and repair of damaged properties.

Amin graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2013 with a Civil Engineering Major by virtue of the Bachelor of Science. He is experienced in using, and referring to, the Building Code of Australia, and is knowledgeable about the Australian Standards for ‘Residential timber-framed construction’. Amin became a Qualified Timber Framing Carpenter in 2010 and brings an in-depth knowledge of timber framing to our team. He also holds a Certificate III in Customer contact and is compassionate and courteous when communicating with clients.

Hugh Mountford, one of the two founding directors of what is now Imparta Engineers, began work in technical reporting for insurers in South Australia in the mid-1970's, before the Insurance Contracts Act and the Insurance Code of Practice were introduced. Mountford Prider was established in 1999 with Phil Prider. Hugh brought the company’s operations to NSW in 2004. He has undertaken work for many Loss Adjusting groups and insurers over the intervening years, with work in both urban and country areas extending into Queensland, NSW, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.

He has extensive experience in diagnosing the causes of adverse building behaviour, whether the damage has resulted from reactive clay or other soil types subjected to flooding or water pipe leakage, from earthquakes, or resulting from storm, fire or impact.

Failures of various types of swimming pools, timber flooring cracking and buckling, and tracking the origins of water entry into buildings are also aspects of building behaviour with which he is familiar.

He has worked in South Africa, Germany, Canada and Australia and has been a guest lecturer in structural engineering at several universities both in Australia and abroad.

Daniel joined IMPARTA early in 2014, bringing an array of interpersonal, analytical and forensic skills with a focus on the causation of complex failures. Investigative reporting and diagnostic engineering is his passion.

Beau has worked for the company since 2007, both in the South Australian and New South Wales offices.

Beau has extensive experience in preparing, and detailing methods for repair of fire-damaged, impact-damaged, and storm-damaged structures. He has significant experience using, and knowledge of, the Building Code of Australia, with in-depth knowledge of the Australian Standards for ‘Residential timber-framed construction’ and ‘Construction in bushfire-prone areas’.

Beau brings experience and understanding of our insurance client’s specific requirements, and compassion and sensitivity when dealing with the owners of the affected properties.

Since graduation in 2000, Mun (Kan) has worked in the engineering design and construction industry across several countries. He has worked in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand.

Kan has over 16 years of structural design, condition assessment and dilapidation survey experience in residential, commercial, water and mining industries. He brings a range of design, analytical and forensic skills.

Since joining the company in 2013, Kan has worked on plenty of complex insurance claims, which involve significant investigation, design and remediation. He focusses on providing expert advice to assist in decisions regarding causation of complex structural failures and remediation.

Kan has multiple language skills. He can communicate fluently in Mandarin, Cantonese, and Bahasa.

Christos completed his degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Technology, Sydney in 2011. He built experience within the construction and remedial industry before joining Imparta Engineers in late 2015 as a Diagnostic Structural Engineer.

Christos represents Imparta Engineers by undertaking all aspects of forensic investigation and reporting. In this role, he has assessed and analysed numerous types of damaged structures and travels throughout many urban and rural areas of Australia.

Taking pride in working with the Company’s various clients, Christos’ extensive interpersonal skills and attention to detail allow him to fulfil clients’ varying needs.

Anthony has an honours degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Technology Sydney (2012). He has worked in the construction and remedial industry upon graduating and joined Imparta in early 2016.

Anthony brings his enthusiastic, friendly, and approachable attitude to every site. He has inspected and investigated many structures methodically, and with great detail. He has produced many reports, including a peer reviewed journal titled “Investigation of Flint Glass for Partial Replacement of Fine Aggregate in Fly Ash Cement-Based Mortars”.

Swimming pool failures and determining the origins of water entry are some aspects of building behaviour in which he specialises in. He is an active member of Engineers Australia and is aiming to obtain his Chartered Status in late 2018.
