Phil Prider
Director

Phil has significant insurance reporting experience, having provided engineering advice to the insurance industry since 1992. He brings the significant advantage and understandings of his legal training to the company.

Phil has undertaken residential and commercial building damage investigations throughout Australia, in both urban and regional/rural areas. He has also provided expert witness reports on many insurance matters.

A founder and director of the company since its inception in 1999, Phil has overseen the company’s expansion from humble beginnings in Adelaide to the present operation across Australia.

Josh Miller
Director

Josh has worked in the insurance industry advising on structural engineering failures since graduation in 2001.  He began working for the company in Adelaide soon after its inception and later specialised in water damage claims on reactive foundation soils.

Josh moved to Sydney in 2012 to help with a significant increase in demand for expertise and ultimately to manage interstate operations.  He has advised on hundreds of structural claims throughout NSW, ACT, QLD, SA and Victoria.

Sibbe Lodenstein
Senior Technical Officer

Sibbe joined the company in 2004 having previously worked in management within the building industry. Sibbe has extensive knowledge of building regulation and construction requirements, having designed and documented many new buildings and additions/alterations.

Sibbe has provided technical advice to the insurance industry on large complex loss, building damage,  causation and/or failure of building elements. He has undertaken hundreds of projects detailing repairs for fire, storm, flood, impact and water damaged buildings in both urban and regional areas across SA, Victoria, NSW and ACT.

Sibbe Lodenstein
Senior Technical Officer

James Cibich
Diagnostic Structural Engineer

James has a first class honours degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from the University of Adelaide (2010). Since graduation, James has worked closely with senior structural and diagnostic engineers to gain experience in a wide variety of construction and engineering practices. He has been involved in a number of complex structural investigations and prepared detailed reports to provide clients with expert advice to assist in decisions regarding asset management, damage causation and remediation.

Whilst developing his experience in the engineering and construction industry, James also completed a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Adelaide (2014). This legal training has provided James with a unique understanding of complex legal issues that can arise during engineering and construction projects as well as during the life of an asset. James has utilised this unique juxtaposition of skills to provide expert reports to assist clients both in a litigious and non-litigious context.

Ian Barnett
Senior Diagnostic Structural Engineer

Having graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1981, Ian has over 35 years of structural engineering experience in mining, multistorey, industrial and commercial projects, having worked overseas and throughout Australia.

Ian joined the company in 2009, bringing 16 years’ experience as a timber engineering specialist.  An extensive knowledge of timber framed structures has been invaluable in a field where damage to residential construction is commonplace.

Ian has project-managed both commercial and residential builds, where his attention to detail and extensive building product knowledge is invaluable.

Simon Hoffman
Diagnostic Structural Engineer

Simon joined the company in 2012 after completing his honours degree in Civil and Structural Engineering at the University of Adelaide. He has undertaken numerous site investigations throughout Australia.

Simon has gained a wealth of knowledge during his time at the company regarding building and engineering practices. He specialises in diagnostic work for residential and commercial buildings, especially building movement and cracking damage.

Adrian Pethick
Diagnostic Structural Engineer

Adrian joined the company in 2015, with 17 years of structural design experience in the commercial and mining sectors. With his background in consulting, he brings a wealth of design and construction knowledge to the company.

Since joining the company, he has been involved in many challenging investigations including retaining wall failures, farm building collapses and residential building movement.

Jason Butler
Structural Design Engineer

Jason joined Imparta in early 2023 coming on board as a structural design engineer.  Jason brings significant experience in steel and concrete design.

Duane Baugh
Engineering Technician

Duane has gained a wide variety of valuable experience in the construction industry after completing his studies in Building Design and Drafting in 1998.

After 9 years as a design drafter in the industrial, commercial and residential sectors, Duane worked for 5 years with a building design and construction company involved in all aspects of design, drafting, estimating, project and construction management of multi-million dollar contract works.

Duane also gained experience in the insurance industry working as a Loss Adjuster for 2 years before returning to the construction industry.

Since joining Imparta Engineers in 2014, Duane has enjoyed the privilege of combining all his skills into the one role and expanding his knowledge of buildings and building repair methodology.

Debbie Hibbert
Engineering Technician

Debbie joined the team in 2023 having had significant experience in the architectural field.  With over 20 years of experience in domestic designs, energy efficiency and heritage related buildings.

David Marafioti
Engineering Technician

David has significant experience in the building design industry having run his own design company for over 16 years. David has experience in residential construction including energy efficiency requirements having designed many building, alterations and additions throughout Adelaide.

Peter Fewster
Engineering Technician

Peter has extensive experience with architectural and building design firms based in Adelaide having worked on numerous projects including commercial and residential buildings.

These have incorporated the design and documentation of new and existing buildings throughout Australia, including new residential, hospital and aged care projects through to defence facilities.  Peter has covered a wide variety of work in this field.

Peter brings over thirty years of experience in the building and construction industry and is incorporating his skills and knowledge to the repair of damaged buildings and structures.

Deborah Evans
Engineering Technician

Deborah joined Imparta Engineers in May 2023 as part of the drafting team having previous experience with a prominent building design company in Adelaide.

Jarrad McCawley
Administrator

Jarrad joined the company in 2011 as Administration Officer bringing his office management and customer relations experience from a wide range of businesses. His knowledge in administration allows him to help maintain Imparta Engineers valued customer and client relations.

Jarrad is responsible for liaison with customers and clients and is the primary administration contact for Imparta Engineers.

Brisbane Team

Spenser Kenkel
Diagnostic Engineer

Having received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Spenser has a wide range of international experience across the construction, engineering and insurance industries.

Since joining the company in March 2016, Spenser has assisted with expanding the reporting capabilities of Imparta Engineers in Queensland and has undertaken a range of diagnostic investigations for residential and commercial buildings.

Melbourne Team

Chana Jayasinghe
Senior Diagnostic Structural Engineer

Chana joined the company in 2012 having completed his doctoral research degree, part of which included building damage investigation following severe wind events, and full scale structural testing.  He has substantial knowledge on structural failure mechanisms of buildings subject to windstorms and cyclones.

Chana has been involved in the investigation of many damaged structures subjected to various insurance related hazards throughout Australia, and provided investigation reports and repair scopes on matters investigated.

Following the completion of his Civil/Structural Engineering degree with a first class honours (2005), he has conducted structural analysis, design & detailing, project management construction and research on low to multi-storied residential and commercial building structures.  This diverse experience assists him to solve/diagnose complex civil/structural engineering issues in the Insurance Industry.

Beau Williams
Senior Technical Officer

Beau has worked for the company since 2007, in the South Australian, New South Wales, and Victorian offices.

Beau has extensive experience in preparing, and detailing methods for repair of fire-damaged, impact-damaged, and storm-damaged structures. He has significant experience using, and knowledge of, the Building Code of Australia, with in-depth knowledge of the Australian Standards for ‘Residential timber-framed construction’ and ‘Construction in bushfire-prone areas’.

Beau brings experience and understanding of our insurance client’s specific requirements, and compassion and sensitivity when dealing with the owners of the affected properties.

Sachin Sreekumar
Diagnostic Structural Engineer

Sachin has worked in the construction industry since 2012, prior to joining Imparta in 2021. With his background as a structural engineering design consultant, Sachin has experience across a wide range of sectors including residential, commercial, industrial, education, healthcare and telecommunications.

Sachin has a Master’s Degree in ‘Structures and Forensics’ which has provided him with extensive knowledge in structural failures and strengthening methods for existing buildings.

Since joining Imparta Engineers, Sachin has been involved with a variety of commercial and residential projects which include fire damage, tree/vehicle impacts, building movement and inundation.

Peng Leong
Structural Engineer

Peng graduated in Civil Engineering from the University of Swinburne in Melbourne (1987) and has 30 years of civil structural and project engineering experience in mining, oil & gas, residential and industrial projects, having worked overseas and in Queensland.

Peng has undertaken numerous site investigations throughout Queensland and NSW prior to joining the company in early 2020. With his background in consulting, he brings a wealth of design, analytical and forensic skills to the company.

Jarrod Schonfelder
Senior Engineer

Jarrod has provided engineering services to the residential building industry for over 30 years.

Jarrod holds an MBA along with an honours degree in Civil Engineering so brings business acumen and particular expertise in the design and analysis of shallow footing systems on reactive clay foundations to the investigation of damaged structures.

Since joining Imparta Engineers in 2022, Jarrod has been involved with a variety of residential projects which include storm damage, tree/vehicle impacts, building movement, inundation and retaining wall failures.

Rafael Manglicmot
Engineering Technician

Raf has been working in the Construction and Design industry since obtaining his Bachelor of Architecture degree in 2006.

Having previously worked in both the Architectural and Building realms, Raf has carried out varying roles and responsibilities which have extended his experience beyond the preparation of building / planning permit documentation, site analysis and contract administration.  During his time as a Registered Building Practitioner, he has equipped himself with a sound knowledge of Rescode requirements, building regulations and construction methods.

Raf has worked on numerous residential projects, ranging from multi-unit developments, high end custom designed homes, volume design of single dwellings, and extension / renovation projects.

Since joining Imparta Engineers in 2019, Raf has undertaken a number of projects involving detailed repair documentation and providing alternative solutions to damaged dwellings.  Raf brings diversified experience of the building industry into the team, and he is committed to adapting his skillset to his current role and strives to focus on building repair methodologies as a valuable addition to his repertoire.

April Stroud
Engineering Technician / Building Designer

April has worked within the construction industry since 2018, having previously worked with a strong focus on renovations and extensions across Melbourne.

April has broad experience in the production of drafting documentation and has considerable knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and timber framing.

Since joining Imparta in 2022, April considers the ever-different projects as a great opportunity to expand her knowledge and understanding of construction and building repair methods.

Sneha Somani
Building Designer

Sneha has been in the Construction and Design Industry since 2012. She has completed her Bachelor of Architecture in 2011 and Masters in Spatial Planning in 2012 from Oxford Brookes University, UK.

During her architectural and building realms, she has worked on designing and constructing numerous scales of projects ranging from single dwellings, studios, extensions and multi developments.

She has extensive experience in obtaining building and planning permits, site analysis, and contract administration. She has a sound knowledge of Rescode, NCC and BCA.

She joined Imparta Engineers in January 2022 and has worked on several projects. She has been actively involved in site inspections, detailing repair and working drawings, preparing reports and providing alternative solutions to damaged buildings.

She is committed to her work in the construction industry and focuses on developing her technical skills to provide better design solutions.

Tom Patterson
Engineering Technician

Tom joined Imparta Engineers Melbourne office in September 2023 as part of the building design team. Tom brings experience in the design and construct area and project management.

Jennifer Webb
Administrator

Jennifer joined Imparta Engineers in 2022 as Administration Officer bringing her office management and project administration experience gained over 9 years in the mental health industry.

Jennifer has broad experience in diary management, customer service and business coordination. With Jennifer’s extensive experience this allows her to help and maintain Imparta Engineers valued customer and client relations.

Daniel Hugo
Senior Diagnostic Structural Engineer

Daniel’s career has spanned more than 30 years and includes structural design, diagnostic engineering and extensive international experience on major projects. He has worked in South Africa, Germany, Canada and Australia and has been a guest lecturer in structural engineering at several universities both in Australia and abroad.

Daniel joined IMPARTA early in 2014, bringing an array of interpersonal, analytical and forensic skills with a focus on the causation of complex failures. Investigative reporting and diagnostic engineering is his passion.

Mun Kan
Senior Diagnostic Structural Engineer

Since graduation in 2000, Mun (Kan) has worked in the engineering design and construction industry across several countries.  He has worked in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand.

Kan has over 16 years of structural design, condition assessment and dilapidation survey experience in residential, commercial, water and mining industries.  He brings a range of design, analytical and forensic skills.

Since joining the company in 2013, Kan has worked on plenty of complex insurance claims, which involve significant investigation, design and remediation.  He focusses on providing expert advice to assist in decisions regarding causation of complex structural failures and remediation.

Kan has multiple language skills.  He can communicate fluently in Mandarin, Cantonese, and Bahasa.

Christos Venetsanos
Diagnostic Structural Engineer

Christos completed his degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Technology, Sydney in 2011. He built experience within the construction and remedial industry before joining Imparta Engineers in late 2015 as a Diagnostic Structural Engineer.

Christos represents Imparta Engineers by undertaking all aspects of forensic investigation and reporting. In this role, he has assessed and analysed numerous types of damaged structures and travels throughout many urban and rural areas of Australia.

Taking pride in working with the Company’s various clients, Christos’ extensive interpersonal skills and attention to detail allows him to fulfill clients’ varying needs.

Hyun Kim
Architect

Hyun joined Imparta Engineers in 2024 as a registered architect and design practitioner in NSW.

He has practised architecture in NSW and QLD, working for some of the leading architectural firms and award-winning projects.

Hyun is passionate about the delivery of good quality design, and solving complex design problems.

With his background in architectural design, documentation and procurement, Hyun brings a wealth of architectural knowledge to the company.

Gareth Hampson
Engineering Technician

Gareth began his building career in 1999 renovating domestic properties throughout the UK.

He has been with the company since 2015. In this time he has performed many site inspections relating to fire, inundation & impact-damage claims around NSW & ACT.

His knowledge in a wide range of building practices, and methods of construction, together with his Advanced Diploma in Engineering Design, have afforded him a great understanding of residential and commercial construction & the building industry.

Renee Brown
Administrator

Renee joined the company in 2012 as an Administration Officer bringing her management style and extensive customer service experience gained in 20 years in the hospitality and retail industry.

Renee previously managed Ricca Coffee Company and Café in Adelaide for 7 years, where she expanded her skills in all facets of running a small business, including customer, staff and supplier relations, to quality of product and service.

With her significant experience this allows her to help maintain Imparta Engineers valued customer and client relations.
